Cool The winds of change....

Are there any sharksters who have any tales to tell either way about the best way to go?

Damn sorry to hear about the damage to your GT. I just saw that CoverCraft is having a sale on their car covers. They also have a general purpose model on sale right now for $18.99 delivered!!! How can you go wrong, eh? (note: no mirror pockets and certainly no cutout for the s4 & GTS top-mounted "fin" antenna).

http://www.carcoversplus.com/cover_sale.htm

This is a good "inside" cover. They have a higher-line model on clearance (1 mirror pocked only?!) for something like $90. You may have to do a search by manufacturer and model to find this one...

It's been my experience that a car cover causes more damage to the paint than it prevents - regardless of the quality of the cover.

You might consider investing in one of those car pods I've seen previously discussed here.

Back in my pre-home owership days....I lived for years with car covers. I never had any problem with scratches on my finish, and those years included 4 in a beachfront condominium with sand everywhere....

-The only issue I can see is the possibility of your car being rained on with the cover. My covers were the cheap cotton variety from Wal-Mart- they stuck like glue, and if I left them in the trunk for a few hours, they mildewed and stunk. I've heard it is not good for the wax coat to have a wet car cover in contact. Since the wax protects the paint when it is exposed to sun...

PS: Winds Of Change by The Scorpions is one of my favorite songs!
