2019 NER PCA Concours d’Elegance
Great day down in Newport, RI. We had over 100 Porsches for our PCA NE Chapter Concours in various judged categories and many more parked on the beautiful Chateau-ser-mer Estate.
The Audrain Museum in Newport, RI is hosting "Audrain's Newport Concours & Motor Week" . This is the first year for the 4 day event, to have an East Coast car event in the style of Monterrey and Amelia Island type car events. It kicked off Thursday with some special invite events running thru their major Concours de'Elegance show Sunday at the Breakers Estate.
My 1991 928 GT was entered in the new "Werks Style " category and took 1st place in my class!
Great day, great venue, weather mid 60's and sunny........lots of interest in the 928. I must have been one of the last people to leave as they kept coming to the car to see it and ask questions about the GT! Made for an enjoyable 2 hour drive back home.
Bottle of wine donated to each 1st in Class winners from PCA NE member who has his own vineyard !
"A new category, “Werks-style Judging”, will be added this year. PCA has been organizing Werks Reunion events at the Monterey and Amelia Island car weeks for several years now. Participants in Werks Reunion events still prepare their cars for the concours, but unlike traditional Full Concours or Parade style judging, Werks considers not only the appearance but also the history of the car, its usage by the owners, and overall aesthetic appeal "
Walked into Newport town center and visited the Audrain Museum where they had display of GM show cars from many years ago, and then onto the Tennis Hall Of Fame where Aston Martin was displaying their new DB11, DBS and Vantage. Chevy also had a display with the new 2020 Corvette, looks really nice!

That looks like a great turnout! My region's show is next week and it has only a handful of cars so far, but everyone loves to register last minute.
They definitely chose a great location with more to do than just hover around each other's cars all day.

Bob, congrats! I love seeing your beautiful car ace those shows.
Thinking of going to Radwood Boston at Larz Anderson 10/12? PCA was soliciting 80s and 90s Porsches.

Do it. Radwood events are always great and usually have a massive turnout with all kinds of cars. You'll never see so many 80's ****boxes anywhere else. Especially ones that still run!

Thought about it but after being away last two weekends for "car stuff" ( Frenzy and Concours) I'll be heading back up to Maine today so my wife remembers who I am !

Great job Bob! Wish I was there. Instead it rained here yesterday so cars stayed home Judged annual zoo show and met Dave Kindig of “Bitchen Rides”. Joel Roberts braved the elements and snagged a top fifty. Jack Hanna helped hand out awards
