Drivers window regulator stop.
Hello everyone, I have a 88 928. The other day I was closing my drivers side window and when it got to the full up position I heard what sounded like a machine gun going off in my door. Startled the hell out of me. I took the door panel off and found inside the door the window upper stop that is attached to the regulator assembly. I reinstalled it but now the window wont go all the way up. Do I have to remove the motor and re-index the motor gear to the regulator?
Looking further into the window not going up all the way now I found that I have installed the window stop in the correct place. I removed the motor and regulator and found the regulator arm that attaches to the window bent.

When I was DD'ing a 928, I had a similar failure. I left the motor and regulator out of the door and used locking pliers on the tube to support the nylon guide until I got my parts. I left the door panel off so I could quickly drop the glass, if needed. It wasn't too bad to use the car that way. Also, I came to realize the barrier doesn't do much in the 928.
