Brake Pedal Feel

When refreshing the brake fluid after my last track day, I found that one of the front brake calipers was squeaking under hard pedal pressure
Puzzled by this I decided to loosen the caliper bolts and have my assistant press the pedal hard again, no more squeaking
It seems the caliper had seated slightly off parallel with the disc, but it wasn't enough to make the pads wear unevenly
With my assistant pressing the brake pedal I tightened the caliper bolts, and then my assistant immediately reported that the pedal feel was much harder
I drove the car round the block later and my assistant was right, the pedal feel was much improved
In all the years I've owned the car I'd never even considered that the the calipers could seat incorrectly

Perhaps a spec of debris on the mounting surface put an ever so slight angle to the caliper. Could be a stakcing of tolerances. Good to know though. Feel is very important for confidence on the track,

You would never hear the squeaking during normal driving because the only time you'd use that much pedal pressure is when on track or when there is a lot of noise masking the sound
