CIS Fuel Injectors
I am fairly convinced that my fuel injectors are original (1979). I have pulled them and attempted to flush them and look at the spray pattern. The spray patter seems OK but I am not really sure.
My question is if those of you that have replaced their injectors have observed any improvement in gas mileage and/or performance?
Thanks

Yes.
The CIS injectors are completely mechanical and cannot be rebuilt like the electronically controlled types.
On the plus side, they are relatively inexpensive (approx. $30 apiece or less) so replacing them outright is an easy choice to make.

I paid 38$ usd a peice for 4 injectors on my 924. My previous injectors were also origonal, the improvements were : a smoother/quiter idle, much smoother acceleration from 1500-2500 rpm range, (only by the seat of the pants test) reved up quicker. My previous injectors were clogged, stuck up and had terrible spray patterns. Swapping them was simple but don't be like me and in fear of a fuel leak, over torque it and twist a banjo bolt

I guess I got a deal, 26.00 each. Got them from professionalautoparts.com.
Am looking forward to a smoother idle. All vacuum leaks have been taken care of and the idle remains a little rough so I hope the injectors are the fix.

I replaced the injectors on my '79 Euro 5-liter hybrid. It made a considerable difference. It starts much easier, idles smoother, and seems to have more high-end power.
Another local Euro CIS 928 required all new injectors. It made a big improvement for that car too.

Am I rememmbering correctly? Wasn't there a thread about being able to replace the CIS injectors with some from a Ford Mustang? Or did I dream that after an evening of reading motor mount posts. I think I might need to replace the injectors in my '83 Euro. It gets TERRIBLE gas mileage. Terrible like 12 on the highway at steady 70. Worse in town.
Thanks for the info
