Digi-dash operation basic testing

Is there a way short of tearing apart my pod to verify a used digidash is operational or at least at a minimum the current mileage?

I do not know much about the digital dash yet but on plug 2, pin 12 & 13 are switched power, pin 14 & 15 are constant ground, and pin 16 & 17 are constant 12v. You might need a few jumpers to operate it.
