It would undoubtably be more costly getting them off the island than the value of the car.

Default rust

The only car I have ever known not to rust in Honolulu was my mother's Mercedes 280SL.

If you think a 928 or any other Porsche will not rust in Honolulu, guess again. My new 911 which was flown to Honolulu to avoid damage and then "rustproofed" had bubbles in the paint from rust in the front fenders/body seam within 30 days of touching ground. Don't even go there if you don't want rust. Aluminum corrodes as well if left unpainted. In fact it is so bad, I still need to get greased to stop from squeaking.

Just a minor thought.

Nice one Richard,
The rest of the Chevy Chase "Fletch" quote: "...ever done any time doc?"
Fletch is one of the best movies for one-liners, ever!

Salvage cars usually bring very little in HI . I can not imagine how difficult it would be to have a "junkyard" there !! Oil contaminating the soil ?? And yes shipping costs to the mainland make it very hard to pay much when much of the car is a throw away ..... We have contacts ( shops in HI ) who could partially dismantle BUT that is far from FREE then they would have to PAY to dispose of the carcass .....
