Anybody try doing this on a minor ding repair before? To what result? I left my car at airport over w/end and found a bag must have hit the car right between the driver window and rear quarter window. Not a sharp edged ding so it looks fairly easy ("looks" being the critical word). How difficult is it to get to that region of the body from the inside, and once there is there any important advice? I thought I'd try something like the plastic grill cleaner tool from my Joe Forman Grill I never use - seriously!

Take it to a good paintless dent repair place. They should be able to get it out without a problem. Cost is pretty low and they will have all the right tools to get to it and remove. I've tried removing dings on other cars at home with all sorts of objects.......it's harder then it looks........

MikeN is right on point.
I just had 2 dings worked out on a 911 and you can NOT find them.
I asked they guy if he cared if I watched and he didn't mind. He came to my house to effect the repair and was here about an hour.
After watching him it's clear that the work he did was art. There is a clear "feel" needed to know which shaped tool and where to start on the dings.
He commented to me that even after a long weekend, it takes him a little while to pick back up the feel.
Paintless dent removal is the way to go...but the tech you get is going to the most important thing, so try to get references on a particular individual and not just a shop.
