Default Zimmermann disc

Hello good morning to all, I put some pictures of the latest improvement in my s4, the intention was to mount the 964 turbo 322mm but seeing the big difference in price I agree with the 304mm drilled, see what you think, the centers I painted them in gold that give them a better image, a greeting to all.

It's truly amazing how some seemingly minor detail like the painted hats so dramatically cleans up what is otherwise a brake-dust and rust magnet. Very nice!

Tried them before... They rusted at the hub and around the edge, cracked through the drilled holes and were not the best balanced. I prefer the OE parts much more.

That's a problem with the "drilled" holes, and I put the scare quotes around drilled only because everyone calls them drilled, but AFAIK they aren't really drilled on high quality rotors, instead I've been told they're cast into it. Not sure about that but I've always assumed if it's to be done right, Zimmerman does it that way, so my guess is they're really cast in.

All that aside, I personally favor the Zimmerman slotted rotors; you don't have to worry about the rotors cracking under high heat conditions, then failing catastrophically. I consider that a real plus. The slots vent offgassing by the pads and give you essentially the same performance without the risk of a sudden dramatic and explosive failure of the rotors.

This is my absolutely free personal opinion and its worth everything you paid for it .

Regards,

Brakes and wheels look great. Thanks for showing them off.
