Good morning guys,

when removing the the rack from my 89 S4 to replace, should I remove the tie rods at the rack or at the steering knuckle?

 

Are you replacing the tie rods with new ones or keeping the old ones?

If you're keeping the old one, leave them on the car and remove at the rack.

If you are changing them, I would remove the rack with the tie rods (removed at the steering knuckle) and make the transfer on the bench.

 

Thanks. I’m keeping the ones that are on there now. I just replaced those about a month ago
