Hint: Try cleaning up the spot where you injected it with soap/water/alcohol to get all the UV die off there. Then check back in a week to see if it came back. I have seen schrader valves leak in the past, and it's super easy to miss when you assume the UV dye came from injecting it....

most likely your leak is at the compressor ,
add a 14 oz can and see how much bubbles show up in the window.
chances are good you wont find anyone that will work on a R12 system.
IIRC I rebuilt that system with all new o rings ex valve and drier and new compressor hoses,
and the HI pressure line along the right fender well under the coil.
I would only add refrigerant and use the system

That's where mine was, and I could see the green dye on the front of the compressor. New compressor and an upgrade to 134a fixed everything (man is AC nice at 90 degrees and HUMID).

Value your time. Risk results in hours and maybe minutes: Buy or borrow a good refrigerant sniffer. It's money very well spent.
Some AC shops use them when they actually want to make repairs to a system so it works for an extended time. The dyes and UV lights are for shops that want to sell you a recharge now and send you on your way. Then see you again in a month or maybe a year to do it again.
Do It Once, Do It Right, Do It Like You Mean It. Seriously.
Local regions can easily justify buying a sniffer as a share-around tool. Get spare sensors and put a new one on each spring for the whole group's use. Under $100 for a decent one these days. Money very well spent IME.
