Under bonnet wire insulation
The repair of engine bay and body after the fire repair is almost ready, which means I can start to assemble some stuff
That also means all wiring looms in the engine bay.
Fortunately the loom in my donor car is in a pretty good overall shape, however the brown insulation has become pretty hard and brittle especially in the hotter areas near and on the engine.
In modern cars, Tesa 51026 tape is uses to insulate wiring looms. I think it also looks better than the ugly brown stuff porsche used.
What are your thoughs on what material to use?

E.g. I ordered a constantine clamp and super bearings. Not stock but should be a definite improvement.
Also the wheels are Original Porsche Cup IIs (with the correct ET65 offset). Not the way it came out of the factory, but I think it improves the look and handling.
It's not inteded to be a super showcar that never gets driven.
Using the modern tape instead of the old plastic stuff has some benefits I think. It will remain flexible which avoids stress on the wires in specific areas.
This was pretty clear from looking at the donor harness, at some places the outer stuff was so hard that it snapped in a couple of areas.
And those areas took up all of the flexing, resulting in broken insulation of some of the wires.
But if there is some alternative that would look more stock then I would definately consider that.
