Anthony I sell so few of those that we do not stock them. So it all depends on IF Porsche has them in either the Ontario Ca. warehouse or the Atlanta warehouse. The last ones I got a few weeks ago only took a couple days. If it were my car I would run the 87-91 venturi intake tubes but I can be a cheap bastard at times besides I like the sound of bwahhhh as the intake sucks in air reminds me of the 428 Cobrajet ram air shaker hood Mustangs I used to drive ! And yes the labels usually are visible on the new replacement GTS tubes.

Why don't the DA's stick them on the rubber ends? Oh wait a minute, I know the answer to that...... .......it's because they like a lot of the people in the service industry, don't give a sh*t!

Jim, Are they factory originals or OEM? There is a difference in them. I swore I was told on several occasions they were NLA.

Keith that actually looks pretty damn good. Mine are not bad the insulation is starting to crack. Probably someone used a pressure washer at on time and damaged them or just age. The engine looks so darn good except for the intake tubes.

My wife calls me Mr ****. I am talking about my compulsive need to have everything perfect. I drive my cars hard but like them to look like they are Garage Queens. Tough to do both.

I was thinking of buying a set of new ones only for show purposes. This car looks like it has 10k miles on it and then you open the hood and the cracked intake tubes look terrible. As long as they are still available I think it must wait until all the other important things are done. By that time the euro should be up and so will the price.

Chuck I have two of them here which someone attempted to peel off the labels and tore the skin of the insulation foam they are PORSCHE from Porsche each has THREE labels or the remains of three bits of white paper. I understand from our purchasing agent that there are none currently available in the US so it may well be that they are NLA the volume of sales is so low that Porsche may have decided NOT to have them made anymore. They no longer have ANY legal obligation to make ANY replacement 928 PARTS since the car is ten years old.

Keith what type of hose is that and I am assuming it is louder than the stock intake tubes? Did you powder coat all of the aluminum parts on your engine? It looks great.

I still have the original insulated ones that I tucked away. They are in near perfect shape. I am just waiting for them to go up in value so I can cash in on them and buy some wheels for the car

Everytime I post a pic of these intake tubes, I get PM's ...guess that's why I show the pic. I think they look wayyyy better than anything out there for the cars.

Noise? To be honest, I really can't hear any difference between these and the insulated ones. If you want to hear the sucking sounds, pull the air box!

This is 3" heat and stain resistant industrial flexable rubber ventilation hose. I tried it on the 82 and after a couple of years, they still look as good as when I bought the hose. I got them at a place called HOSE MAN out here in Cali. They have a few locations, but I expect you can find an industrial supply warehouse close to your home and buy it. I bought a 5 foot length, cut trimmed and fitted. For the price, you can't beat it...and they stay looking new for a long time.

Oh yeah, they work great too!

BTW, engine parts are liquid painted, baked and clear coated.

Hmmm, once again I checked with our supplier and there are at least 66 GTS insulated hoses available in Germany and the cost is approx. $150 each. I can have them here in 2 days for an additional $20.......

Any takers?

OK so it appears Porsche does have 66 of them in the warehouse in Germany and will "car down them" expidite for the additional charge. As I stated there were none in the USA warehouses. And all 66 of them will probably have three paper labels. Porsche did discontinue the small diameter 1985-86 intake tubes several years ago due to low sales volume. The two GTS tubes I have here are going back to Porsche because of the label issue.

Actually Jim, there are two in the US other than yours but they have been sitting there for quite a while and are of unknown quality. They are down in southern Cal. at a dealership but I'd prefer factory fresh for the people that want them. I don't think that removing the stickers adds anything to the value in fact fresh factory stickers may be a bonus at car shows.

I've got a set of fresh 85 tubes for sale... nice tubes keith/sterling! so rarely we get to have a choice on parts - I'll have to savor this for a while! mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm...

The stickers part number tags I believe are ONLY on replacement intake tubes. The originals as delivered on a new GTS did not have those labels so technically might not be considered "correct" at some car shows but I never was much into car shows.
