Default 1980 oil filler spraying

This may be a dumb question... i forgot to reconnect the top oil hose on my 80 us auto. Consequently it sprayed oil all over my engine bay. Should it be doing this? Because from what i see is that the hose goes into the throttle body. Do i have too much oil? Thanks for any help! Also only happens when i rev it. Doesn't happen when idling

I'm not an authority on this, but from reading a few threads talking about it, I believe one of the cams is directly below one of the oil ports from the filler, and tends to sling oil up into the filler/separator housing at high RPM.

Edit: I went and looked around a little, and this was the first of the commercial products offered that I found.

There are other options, but the others that I spotted were all apparently for the 32valve engines, at least that was the application shown in all the pics, and I didn't see any info about 16v engines.

It will do that because the #2 counterweight is just below it. Install one of Greg Brown's filter baffles and forget about it.
