Yes. Then remove the screws holding on the wheel well liner and remove it. There you will see the y connector.

I've now had this happen more than any other problem with my car. Sean has fixed every one so far. A different piece of rubber each time. It is currently happening again. I truly love this car, but the gas leaks have been very annoying, scary and, in one case, sickening..Mine is a 1981 auto that spent a lot of years sitting in a garage in a warm climate. Looking back on this experience after 4 years of ownership, I think I should have just asked at the start to have every rubber part replaced. Almost all of the issues I have needed fixed have concerned overage rubber.

Reactivating this thread. Mine (1983) stinks from the passenger rear wheel side, more so from the back portion of it. What do I do?

Check the right rear wheel arch - one of the worst design flaws on the entire car

I tried taking a photo, but its very hard to get a clear view... ... I had a small puddle of what looks like dirty oil, I checked the dip stick for my oil and the engine oil is super clean.... when I tried to smell the rag when I cleaned it up it didn't have a real gas like smell to it.. so I think its just oil, from where its coming from I don't know... hopefully its just old oil residue.. I plan on having the car looked at for other things and now that, and hope to get the engine all cleaned up after all mechanical work performed..but do you guys know of the issue and what can be the cause? I have not put oil in the fill, so I know its not from adding oil...
I also have a fuel smell in my garage , even when car is sitting for couple of weeks without driving.
I ordered a new venthose (venthose from tank to fillerneck that goes through the chassis ) because that is the only hose I never replaced.
I'll keep you posted with the results.

Don’t forget to check the injector hoses. I posted a video of mine leaking in my 82 thread. Hose was spraying while driving, and then until pressure leaked down when parked, lay in the valley, and evaporate. Couldn’t find any puddling, or drips...just a lingering odor...

edit: I see this thread is one yr. old BUT

It sounds like the prob is the carbon canister hose; It has been hinted not actually said: Replace the fuel lines if they are old. You know this of course -- get a box fan and at least one fire extinguisher. Don't even hook up a batt maintainer on this car til you ID the leak.

Thanks, but I didn't see any obvious leaks. I took a video that I can't upload and no wet areas

And when I pull back the trunk liner, that's what I see:

Took the car down to Greg and Kyle at Precision Motorwerks in Orange, CA and am glad that I did. The two are awesome beyond words. They finally found the leak and it was on the very top of the tank and likely caused by too much negative pressure in the tank causing it to deform over time. The picture shows the fracture lines after it was sanded to cover them with a glue that I forgot the name of. Sorry I forgot to take more pictures of the repair too
