Question Option sticker questions

Hello all,

I was wondering if some one could answer a couple of questions for me. I want to make a replacement option sticker for my cars tank location, and warranty manual. I have a spare warranty manual with another cars sticker, and I was looking for clarification on "3" points.

A : What is this number?

B : I know my paint code, but does anyone know what color this is?

C : I assume this is the interior code. I do not know mine. Is there anywhere that I can find my code (Dark Blue)?

I was also wondering if anyone had a high quality pic of the option sticker in their cars tank location? If so, could they post it, or e-mail it to me. Mine was just about gone when I got the car, all that was left was the sticker residue.

Many thanks in advance,
Mike

Hello Mike,

Thanks for the reply. I wonder what "L" signifies?

Yes my car has been repainted, however same factory color. This warranty manual is not mine. It's a spare I got in a documentation package on ebay.

It came with:
Pouch
Owner's manual
Factory fuse and relay charts
Porsche tourist vehicles insert for owner's manual
Porsche World Service Manual (really cool, has locations of all global dealers and detailed maps to all of them)
Porsche touring Pass Book ?

$9

Sorry, I missed the "spare warranty manual with another cars sticker" part.

I would love to have a guide for the interior codes!

Pretty cool package for $9..........

My bet is that it's more precise type number for the body. Different number for US and euro, manual and automatic or something like that. My GTS has 940, one euro '87 S4 5sp I know has 920.

B : I know my paint code, but does anyone know what color this is?
As far as I know there's always L in front of paint number in option sticker. It might come from German word lackierung, meaning lacquer finish.

C : I assume this is the interior code. I do not know mine. Is there anywhere that I can find my code (Dark Blue)?
Don't know any place like Landshark OZ that would cover interiors, there's obviously need for such. Don't know any document that would have these listed either. They're not in color and interior trim brochures or in PET CD as far as I know. PET has different codes for different color parts but they don't seem to match these sticker codes.

But, that '87 S4 just happens to have L980 paint number and dark blue interior with code SX in option sticker. Don't count on it being absolute truth as this is euro with old style door panels.

Regards,

Erkka

I think that's a good call. On http://www.landsharkoz.com/colourstart.htm there is the following:

More for you, based on my search I can confirm the following: My car '94 GTS with 741 Paint is a standard colour for that year. Its the water based version of 747 black. For the '94-'95 MY every colour has a water based equivalent. Note that Speed Yellow is a standard colour for '94 928's.

Ditto on the interior.
