Default How on Earth....?

Hi All!

Trying to rid of some horrible squeaks fro the doors by replacing the old and squashed clips on the small door panel insert with new ones...but how on earth do you remove the old ones?!?!

I've tried twisting, pulling, coaxing and brute force!

Any ideas?

Thanks

John

Just did this - mine shattered as I applied a lateral force to them. I then just picked out the remains from the panel.

If you break off the tabs adjacent to the panel, you can push them towards one edge of the hole, angle them, and twist them out using the inner tab like a thread. Best of luck.

I don’t even try to get them out in one piece. The hole in the fiberboard is usually weak and I don’t want to stress it any more than necessary.

Before I put in a new one, if the hole isn’t almost perfect, I’ll brush a little epoxy resin on the surrounding fiberboard to reinforce it.
