I've driven the car about 100 miles in the past couple weeks since letting the pressure off the motor. The car hasn't made any more of the louder gear sounding noises since. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe it's related, maybe it's a glitch in the matrix, but for now the car seems happy.

My and my brother have a bigger garage back home in Pittsburgh, but I've been in SC working the past few years.
