Default Synchro 2 advice

After my last winter adventure, an engine overhaul including timing belt, waterpump, all seals, pktensior etc etc (and the rest i am starting up for my next big challenge: replacing the 2 synchro in my manual '79 euro 928.

I wonder if people have advice on threads or manuals (even youtube movies) of the procedure for a manuaI?
I found the obvious for example the one from Dwayne:

The main thing i am focussing on now is how to get the gearbox, out of the car. If you have tips let me know, thanks in advance, again

Hey, how timely
check out my tread I just posted for some pics.
there are a number of you tube vids, just search '928 transmission rebuild' on youtube. the porsche work manual has all the info, (although I suspect some of the explanations get lost in german to english translation).
synopsis:
1) remove exhaust - found it easier to unbolt the hangers then to trying to unhook the rubber mounts; remove shields
2) I dropped the gas tank - gives you more room to move the trans back and work, although I think most don't do that. it was good for me as it gave me room to stand up under my lift too.
3) drop suspension - pretty straight forward actually. I have a scissor lift (and a jack for fine movements) as you can see in the pics. Need to suspend the back of the trans from the swaybar first.
4) unhook input from torque tube and shifter rod - push trans back todo so while supported on the trans lift/hanging from swaybar, then drop. I bought a cheap trans lift adaptor for my jack and I didn't realize/understand how useful the angle adjustment **** was for lining up the trans to the torque tube (both for removal and reattachment) until I used it. worked like a charm.

have fun

oh if you decide to replace 2nd gear (not just the synchro), you have to replace it as a set with the counter shaft and 1st gear. The counter shaft has a ring clip/snap ring 'inside' the end without the built in gears that is a pain to try to remove (there's a pic of it in my thread), and no one I talked to had them in stock. I tried drilling holes into it to try to get a cir clip pliers on it - went through 4 sets of small drill bits with barely a dent in it. Although I thought about fabricating a replacement, I was fussed about proper metallurgy. In the end, as I was too impatient to wait 4 weeks for my shipment from Germany through my local Porsche dealer, I used a dremel cut off tool (that I had to make smaller so it would fit) and made a small cut on the edge that I was able to get my Lisle cir clip pliers on it and take it out. I then reused it...
