Maing Engine Harness Question (1983 US model)
All -
Working on a new harness for what I think is a 1983 US Model. My question is this. On the CF diagram, there is one temp sensor shown on the FI page, fed by a yellow wire and a ground. The sensor is about 12-16" away (on this actual harness) from the coolant temp sensors for the pod gauge. Makes sense! The sensor for the FI system is a typical bosch plug.
What is weird on this harness is that there is an additional bosh connector A LONG way away from the one described above - but it is piggybacked off of the first sensor. Interestingly enough, there is no ground to the initial sensor through the harness (I am assuming the ground comes through the block like the coolant gauge sensor), but there IS a brown wire that is also piggybacked to the secondary sensor alongside the yellow.
So my questions...is this a 1983 harness or something else, and what does the extra connector attach to?
Thanks all
End of harness near top of engine. See two connectors for coolant temp gauge beside brown bosch connector for FI temp sensor. This matches what is on my personal 83.
Here is the whole run for the secondary temp sensor (blue plug). The yellow and brown for the secondary sensor is piggybacked from the brown connector at the top.
Here is the red/white connector to the aux air valve...so I know it is separate from that.

Yellow wire connectors go to the Time Temp switch under the thermostat and the other end goes to the cold start injector. The grounding is between them with a brown/yellow trace wire. The solid yellow wires come together and attach to the main starting yellow wire further up the loom. The only real ground wire is on the air valve connector with the red/white trace wire. Red/white goes to the 14 pin connector and the brown goes to ground on the cam carrier.
