How hard do you think it is to make a 1/4" hole and water/rust proof it?

That was given to me by Dan Hebert. He originally planned to use it on The Turk, but I believe he, too, was disappointed in the build quality. He gave it to me as he knew I was wanting to put a body-color wing on my GT. However, I had the same concerns he had - it wasn't an exact replica of the S4 wing (I'm a perfectionist) and this particular one wasn't even straight, it had a slight twist to it and would wobble on a flat surface IIRC.

Would make nice wall art, though. (I liked the S4 wing you all signed and gave Ed Hughes when he moved to Cali)

Ha well I guess we all have our own point of view with what is correct and not. I don’t dig after market shifters or non Porsche wheels so each to their own I guess. Living down at the bottom of the world genuine parts are expensive to get my goal is to get a factory spec wing using CF for less than what it’d cost me from Roger. The young guy doing the work does high end racing yacht parts and has done work for CF parts for a 356 and other cars. As I have said it is a punt on the outcome and I’ll share the result good or bad.
cheers Richard

You mention lower cost than the original as one of your criteria. Right now on eBay there is an original wing for $225, and another $400 - both much less than $1500.

Didnt think the factory item was unusually heavy, being composite already.

I’d love a wing like the one Chris Lockhart had. I’m not sure carbon and aluminium play well together, or carbon and stainless for that matter..

Agreed, and actually in this location weight is a good thing. These cars are already nose heavy, the last thing a 928 needs is a lighter rear end.

I'd pair this with a CF front spoiler to hopefully balance the weight savings on both ends.
