Default Leaking injector fixed

I recently started a thread asking about an injector problem. The thread turned into a pissing contest, so rather than resurrect that thread I’m starting this to follow up.
I ended up ordering a used one from 928 Int. It arrived damaged in shipping last Saturday, blame the post office. On Monday I called to report the damage and received a replacement this morning and am back on the road.
Great customer service.
Thanks to 928 international and to anyone who replied to my first post and answered my questions.
I’m still considering replacing all the injectors this winter and again will ask who has used the replacement set from 928 Motorsports and any feedback on changes in performance.
That’s the question.

The only difference you will feel is that you would now have properly functioning new injectors.

They are still a single hole design IIRC and won't atomize as well as more modern 4+ hole injectors.

I would personally get a new set of high impedance (the L jet runs fine with them) design III Bosch injectors and use a set of adapter hats.

It's a very popular thing to do in the vintage VW crowd as their injectors are NLA as well.

I did this on a 944 and it really improved the idle because of the finer atomization of the fuel with 6 hole injectors.

Yup, what Blake said, and that's exactly what I'm going with my '80 (except I modified some 32V rails instead of using the hats).

As for the hats, one of our vendors makes those too:
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-adaptors.html

Greg deigned those hats for the 84/85 EuroS which uses the same physical style injector as the L-Jets, but those computers can only use high impedance injectors.

Yes the L-Jet injectors are low impedance, you can safely run high impedance injectors with these computers. You cannot go the other way though, people who accidentally put L-Jet injectors in their EuroS fried the ECU.

With those hats you can run pretty much any 24lb injector with the same electrical connector. Just need to make sure you have the proper sized O-Ring at the lower end since the 16V opening is larger than most.

I'm sure our other vendors can assist you with what you need if you decide to go that route, including various injector options.

If you go this route be sure to sick with the "fat body" units so the stock 16V intake hold downs still function the same.

We have the caps so you can use the Design II injectors.
I also sell sets of the Design II injectors.
