it is the switch in steering column
I have the same issue, untill I can pull mine and rebuild it or swap in a new one, I found a perfect little hole on the bottom of the main console and put a switch in there basically cutting the line that gets power when the highbeam switch is activated

Thanks Lizard, I kinda thought as much. Is it a big deal to rebuild the switch or should I just order one?
Thanks,
David

If you do order a new switch or a good used switch , make sure you get the right one. If your 928 has cruise the cruise portion is in the same switch. I made the mistake and bought the wrong one on Ebay, had to make one from two. My original had cruise. That reminds me, I still have to fix that.....Good-luck

Mine does have cruise. I`ll make sure to order the right part.
