Post FYI To everyone doing internal engine and or trans work

This may be common knowledge to some, but I want to post it anyway for those who might not be aware. Mr. Mark Anderson reminded me on another post of a crucial item for all of us doing internal engine and or tranny work. If your doing any internal repairs make sure you flush your coolers and lines before reconnecting them to your engine or trans. You don't want to flush all that junk back into a fresh engine or transmission after you do all that work. All the bearing bits and metal filings you found in your pan are also in your cooler, so flush them out. I've always used an aerosol called Trans Flush. You just have to adapt it to fit a cooler line. It is a foam spray degreaser that flushes through the cooler and lines. You follow it up with some air to remove the remaining solvent. You'll be surprised how much junk comes out. A few cans is good insurance. I have yet to use it on my 928 and want to check its solvent compatibility w/ the rubber hoses before I do.

Has anyone tried this as described? I'm getting ready to replace a tranny that had collected metal shavings at the filter, so I'm pretty sure the stuff is everywhere in the lines and coolers. Any observations or notes by those who have done it?

thanks in advance
