Doc-- Only '89+ cars have injection feeds segregated for the ignition protection relay. Unplug half the injectors, and ohm meter the harness from the LH end. If it's shorted someplace you should be able to see it. Easier with everything unplugged then plug them in one by one while watching the meter. This is the easy stuff. DC, Ohm's Law, parallel resistances...

Yeah, I can do all that. I'm really just pissed off. This should have been straightforward stuff for getting it running, and going backwards when I get to something like this just makes me mad. Same happened with my GT when I broke the camshaft. I had it as a nice linear process, and the day I got to the start up and go, found that first I made one mistake, and then the machine shop made another mistake that cost me time and effort. I'll find the problem, it's not complex work, but just the time and process on a car I should be driving as of last Wed.

Amen my brother!

Now, consider how not that many folks know that the simple stuff you know is the reason why not many others can fix a 928. Complex issues are matrices of simple issues. Unraveling the relationships among the simple issues is what makes all this fun or challenging. If it was easy, everybody would be doing this stuff in their sleep.
