Excuse me for butting in. Especially after a few Sakes.

But my knowledge of belts is that they have a tensile inner fabric. And if I may guess, it is made of a very strong material. Aramid or Kevlar. Forgive my lack of detailed, accurate knowledge. My point is that "stretch" is not really something I believe is a valid concept here. I do not know the details, but am taking a somewhat educated guess that these internal tensile stress materials are very stiff. If anything, wear is an issue that leads to a loose belt, whether an initial wear, or one of longer duration.
Remember the Sake has had it's effects on my cognitive ability, at the moment. Of course there's stretch. But I think there are many components which either alone, or combined, lead to looseness. Stretch is one, and I believe it is initial, and minimal. And it also depends on initial tension. If initial tension is low, then as things wear, stretch, and settle, then retensioning may be required sooner, rather than later, or not at all. And again, depending on the retensioning force, it may be that retensioning be required multiple times.
