an idea If it helps.... i wired a inline switch so i can depower my fuel pump. My car occasionally has trouble with rich starts. Turn the pump off, crank ...pressure drops....at the correct mixture as it clears, it fires right up after a couple of turns....then i simply turn the pump back on. i dont even leave the seat.

Congrats again on all your ORR stuff.

As i look at that video,. is the 928 the "oldest" car in the field?
Thanks Tony. Don't forget Jim's engine, Greg's oil breather setup, Marc's suspension and aero work, Tom C.'s exhaust, John's Sharktuner, and many other's in the 928 community. It takes a lot of people to support this car.

I do have switches at the console for each fuel pump. This time just putting the foot to the floor on the gas petal cleared it up.

213 mph that is awesome - you need to go to Bonneville and break the record.

Congrats George,
213 is quite the accomplishment. Hard to believe 928's have been at this event for 30 years. Keep up the great work.

Incredible results George! Glad to hear you finished safe and sound too.

George makes it sound so easy, but until you participate in these events you have no idea how much effort goes into it. George's dedication is amazing, and his results are well earned!

EVER!!!???
I ran my first ORR event in 2000, the same one that the DEVEK White Car did their 210 mph top speed. That was the fastest 928 in ORR (verified by the sanctioning organization) until I tied it in 2013 at the SSCC with Van as the navigator. So the 213 mph is the fastest 928 top speed in ORR, but that is only verified by my GPS and Dashcam/GPS video, and not a "verified" speed. The 176.1729 mph average is the fastest average speed for a 928 in ORR ever.

They were talking up the fact that they've been running the event for 30 years. There was a person there that was at the first event, and now he's on the Board of Directors. He gave a short talk about those times and asked if anyone there was there during the first year. No one responded. Too bad you weren't there to represent the 928 legacy.

Thanks Rich.

I'm looking for a navigator for next May's NORC. It'll be a two way run and since I haven't run the course backwards, it would be good to have a navigator. I'd probably run 170 again, unless there was a compelling reason to go down to 160. I know you have the experience in the right seat.

Brilliant George!!
Has it really been one whole year since I last saw this amazing piece of road, with you hurtling along it at incredible, unadulterated, ruthless speed???
I cannot wait to see this years footage!!
I am in awe...

George,
How much fuel do you use during one of these runs?

I haven't checked yet. I just put the car in the garage and got ready for the trip to Annapolis (am there now). Last year I used 15 gallons for the 90 miles of the course and 20 miles to the nearest gas station after the race.
