I have disassembled the pump and cleaned all parts. Took lots of photos during the job, but I missed one thing for reassembly that I can't see from my photos. Which way is this "ring" supposed to be installed? It goes on both ways, but it is coned close to the center on one of the sides, flat on the other. From the wear it looks like the flat side should be installed up against the circlip. Can someone confirm? There is some play in the ring, against the "thing" in center of the pump. Is that normal?
