What's going on with 928 Tool kits?

That one looks like all the tools have been chrome plated. They never came that way from the factory, and the price is obscene.

That seller is unwell.
His $100 bill for $170 is a relative bargain:

Prices used to be $150, which was crazy low. Then about $250. But it's really drying up.
I see a nice early set listed for $800 obo, which doesn't seem out of line to me. Compare to hard to find tool sets from similar vintage.

And one for $500 too.

I need to start looking for cheap substitute pieces to keep in the car. Don't dare risk damage to the pristine factory pieces in the tool panel now. Maybe coat the old ones in cosmoline, wrap in oil cloth, and store in a safety deposit box.
I'll need to find a used tow eye. Everything else is in a $40 Harbor Freight Master Mechanic's tool package.

The tools look nice, but there's just no way they are worth anything close to that. I would like to have that screwdriver, though.

I got a used tow eye from 928 international at a great price. Keep them on speed dial and you never know what you will get for a good price. Mine is OB hook and I recall $40 but I could be wrong.
I have an extra set of pliers, not sure how that happened. I think the screw driver was the hardest part for me find, it was $50.

We stock the tow hooks - early and late.
Wrenches (spanners) are still available but do not have the original made in Germany nomenclature.
Red pliers, screwdriver handle and blades are Unicorns and expect to pay big $$$.
