So, is the winner among us? I'd sure like to know if that luggage was reunited with a Weissach car.

Thanks Donald,

I'll make it a point to proudly display the set at our next meeting

As for the other question: no the set won't live in a Weissach edition but I do have the right color combination

Now....if they need a Pristine Weissach to go with it....less than 40,000 actual miles...LOL...I would like to have gotten that set..and hope it turns out well for the bidder.I never expected the bid to go that high...maybe I should really think about putting my car for sale on Ebay...If the luggage brings that I can only dream what the car might go for...

Congratulations, Paul!

Of course, these pieces are so expensive and historically significant (for the 928 community), they are waaay too valuable to use...

In 10 years you can then sell them for the price of a complete Weissach.

I was told that those particular peices of luggage were custom fitted to the rear hatch area of the 928. It occurs to me that they would fit the confines of my obviously non-Weissach '85.

What comes to mind is something that was instigated by my previous airline. Last year, they decided to standardize one leather flying jacket across the board, since everyone was wearing something different yet similar. So they gave all of us $300 leather jackets, custom made via a fitting at the shop in Korea that made them for us. I mean to tell you, I have NEVER OWNED a piece of clothing that fits my body like that jacket! And the quality is intense! While I was being fitted, I asked them if they could make things like leather suitcase covers, and they told me that they could do anything I wanted if I provided them with with MEASUREMENTS.

It occurs that this shop, Oxford Leather in Osan, Korea, could easily make reproductions of the Weissach luggage. And not only in leather- they also work in ballistic nylon and Gore-Tex.

...in whatever color you wish-

-I would ask someone who has Weissach luggage to give me as complete as possible a set of measurements, and I'll forward this information to them in order to get a price.

Normy, They would probably do better to take all the measurements first hand. This way it's a true representation of the luggage.
