Default CV joint assembly

I replaced the driver side CV joints on my 928 this week after hearing ominous clicks coming from the rear. I used Dwayne's how-to video:

While I was at it I did a video on assembling and disassembling the joints and on installing the boots.

On Youtube I added the following remarks...
"This is my first attempt at an educational video so please excuse the noobie errors... like my right hand blocking the view.
Obviously after assembly and before installation the CV joints have to be packed with grease, this is explained in Dwayne's instructions here.

Note that my car is a 1978, after 1982, if I remember correctly, the outer end of the axle was welded on as in Dwayne's thread."

Great video elgy

just a piece of additional information for others who may see this thread.

my car is an early 83 US model, and it still had the removable outer joint (not welded on).

Not it sure if the changeover should be narrowed down to a production number or something else.
