Default 94 928 GTS Intermittent no start problem

1994 928 GTS shipped to me in container for off loading. Vehicle started right up after being in containere for a month. Off loaded it and parked it. An hr or two later got in to start it and no go. Plenty of juce but, acted like it wasn't getting any fuel. Gauge read 3/4 full. Five hours later, just in case the fuel gauge reading was off, I added 5 gallons of gas, vehicle started right up. I suppose I should of attempted to start it prior to adding the additional fuel but, I pulled it inside and parked it. The next day, at least 12 -15 hrs later, I got in to start it and , no go. Just like before, like it isn't getting any fuel. Fuel pump relay, crank sensor ? What do you think. This particular vehicle is in outstanding condition and has very low mileage, maintained to the highest standards

Did you happen wash it when you off loaded it? The engine too? Have you been able to check for spark when it won't start? Sounds like you need to take a look at the connector for the Crank Position Sensor.

Cheers,

Dave

Agree with DR. Crank Position sensor. Connector or sensor failure.

This pesky little devil is located under the airbox and throttle body on the top of the engine block just in front of the bell housing.

Difficult to remove? YES!

Shipped from where as in what type of climate is or was it in? I would have thought a month in a container would drain the batt. But it started. Could still be a batt issue. Points to FP or ign relay or grounds, wires corrosion.

Hi Steve,

Very good point about climate, but a month in the hot humid container is like a normal day here in Florida.. :-)

I was under the impression it was turning over fine, "Just like before, like it isn't getting any fuel"., so maybe battery is OK?

Relay(s) certainly could be an issue, even more so with storage like that.

Hopefully we will hear back from the OP with more details...maybe.

Happy Sunday,

Dave
