Default Oxygen sensor appearance?

replacing my (original?) 87k oxygen sensor

of note: was loose and did not require wrench to take off??
does it look bad? or appearance does not reveal anything?
never seize on install?

Throw that one away and install the new one (Bosch 13048), they usually come with antiseize on the threads.

Copper lube is recommended on this kind of "hot threads".

number on this one is 03048. is this an old version, or an incorrect one?

why would it be loose? can that create a leak that would send bad info to the computers?

can an O2 sensor be "read" like a spark plug?

Who did you buy your '90 GT from? You might want to consider putting a torque wrench on all your suspension bolts.... It was loose because someone didn't tighten it properly. Not sure what 03048 is, it doesn't come up in any Bosch cross-reference guide.

Rob: complete bosch number is 0 258 003 048

here is a link for that part

https://automotivesuperstore.com.au/bosch-0-258-003-048

will check other torques settings; still wondering if that could cause some sort in air leak, resulting in bad info to ECU

If it was finger tight but not falling out, the air leak through the threads would be infinitesimal compared to the airflow through the cats. I doubt it affects any readings.
