Default Rear Tail Light LED Question

I know somewhere here is a thread about how to stop the brake lights being on (dim) all the time when converting to led. I've pulled the pins on the controller to stop the dash light but the brake lights are constantly on.

Hi Scott,
I know it can be done with resistors, but I left one regular incandescent bulb in the high center third brake light (if you have one), and used LED's in the other two. Not only does that let the cruise control work properly, but it allowed my remote start to work as well. In both cases, the CC and the remote starter thought the brakes were on and shut down.
Good luck,
Dave

I think it was a Commadore or Commando. (;Sp?) Got it on Amazon, and has worked fine.

Run a direct wire from the brake peddle switch to the Lamp Control Female Stop Lamp "in-put" for the stop lamps, then the connector should be jumped so as not to feed the stop lamps via the Lamp controller.
You do not need to cut or damage any of the stock wiring to do this mod, the LED's are being illuminated by the Warning Computer behind the Dead peddle.

Thanks Dave, that worked a treat mate. I will say, I tried removing the black wire from the brake switch and the brake lights very dim. I then tried the red and black wire and hey presto, nice bright brake lights and no more dim brake lights when not on the brake. I would be screwed without this forum!
