Default Possible ebay fraud

Watch out for this auction. The guy claims to be selling rear hatch glass using the picture I had for a prior auction.

New auction

My old auction

YIKES! I find it interesting how many folks "borrow" photos for their eBay auctions. In the 928 world...ya gotta be careful. Someone will catch this almost immediately. I've seen it done many times in the vintage electronic auctions...I'm a hi-fi buff (70's high-end gear mostly). Glad you were able to vouch for the fellow, Jim.
Cheers,
TUK

I would tend to say he is just using the photo, and probably does not have the glass out of the hatch yet, or the part is buried in his garage.

I have seen him sell other parts on ebay. I know Greg Goodspeed bought several things from him. Maybe him up and see if he is a reputable seller.

People have "borrowed" a lot of my photos for their auctions, I usually
ask them to remove the image from there ads (if I see them), especially
if they are pointing to my server. Of course that's one of the features
of the world wide web, it's all free for the taking....

next time write in very fine print on the picture that it is copywrited so that if someone else uses it you can sue them

The problem is - they either know you won't go through the time and effort of a lawsuit in federal court just for a picture like this, or they just don't care. After all, it is expensive to buy a digital camera. But having a stolen picture up for a week is a relatively low risk...

I do wish there was a better and easier way to enforce copyrights, and to defend yourself agains frivolous lawsuits regarding copyrights. But if there was, our system would be flooded...

It's pretty common practice for people who do not own a digital camera.

Items sell better with a picture.

So if they do not have a picture, they take someone else's.

I put a "watermark" with transparent letters across the center of some of my photos to discourage theft. Like this-
