I run the Supra 712's on my 17" rims, and I really think it comes down to what you expect for the money. There is no question Khumo makes some very inexpensive tires, but they certainly shouldn't be called cheap since they perform at a higher level than their price would indicate.
I live in Vancouver Canada where we get lots of rain and I've been very impressed with the wet handling. On dry pavement they're very good, though not excellent. I've had them up to 145 MPH and they ran true and stuck to the road well. I've got no complaints.
For a set of tires that runs $500-600, they really are hard to beat.

Drew,
I got 245/50's because they can be had anywhere, as opposed to 245/45's. I put them on the rear thinking how much could a .5 inch make? They made ALOT of difference. One, the ride height in the rear...made the car look like it was going downhill on a permanent basis! Two, handling was GREATLY affected. The rear end was "fishy" to say the least. Hwy. driving going over 70, i have to concentrate to keep the car in a straight line because the rear end would start travelling if I made any sudden application to the steering wheel. Never had the problem with the 245/45's.
I do like the way the 245/50's fill up the wheel well, but other than that...
Just my experience, yours may vary, but i guess the 16 inch tires porsche intended was for a reason.

I have the kuhmos on my Audi S4 as well. Can't beat em for the price but they are loud. They weren't so loud on my 928S4 when I had it but that's a higher build quality car.
