Can I remove the 2 TDC diagnostic pins on an 85 AT flywheel?

I am pretty sure they are not used.

One of them..is the crank sensor...so you do still need one of them..

Jeff, I believe those are for the TDC diagnostic connector - the CPS reads off a gap on the flywheel.

I believe in 1989 they stopped putting the pins on the pressure plates

I'll add I've never done it, but have been tempted to do so many times.
Like said they are not used for anything, go for it, just like removing the sensor and the connector in the Bell housing, no harm, no foul.

I've always left them in place just in case they unbalance the flywheel.

No need to keep them, but in my worrywart brain I'd make sure there's no induced imbalance by pulling them. Probably not worth worrying about but maybe (?)
