Here's a picture of where they are, sorta- The arrow points to the plug in the bottom of the cylinder head exhaust port where the temp sensor screws on, though on this particular motor the sensor plug is in the wrong place- it's shown in cylinder 1, but on a '94 the sensors will be in the bottom of cylinders 3 and 7.

Well hell, that doesn't look like an easy access to check and clean them!
I thought swapping the coils to troubleshoot would be a pain - that's nothing compared to this.
Thanks Speed, and Rob.

Yes, the car has to be at least on liftbars to be able to get to them, if not an outright lift.

Randy,
Be sure and read the PDF I posted in #11, if shows locations and gives some info that might be helpful.

First i'm going to swap the coils to see if it is bad.
Any tips or tricks on removing the passenger side coil? It is really wedged in there among the cooling hoses.

10mm socket on a long extension will get the lower bolt, remove it and the bracket comes off allowing you to pull the coil up enough to access the 8/10mm nuts for the coil wires.

Coil fart. Switch to a gluten-free battery.

I pulled the plug and removed the coil from the bracket to get access.
You can see the significant corrosion on one of the coil wires.
I've got it soaking in PB Blaster for awhile before I attempt to remove that wire. Hopefully it doesn't snap off, but if it does I have a new coil coming from 928 International.

Yes, I popped it off to access the wires.
I thought it had a piece broken out, but see from your pic that notch is there for the wires to exit.

Measure the resistance of the primary and secondary windings, and report the results. Do the other side maybe too. Running the car for a while with the secondary winding open can damage the coil enough that it will never work right. The high tension circuit needs to fire into some resistance(spark plug gap), or it will overheat. My survive, or may be dead, hard to say with this coil type.
