Interstate battery clearance sale
If anyone is looking to buy a battery and have Fred Meyer stores in your area, you might check if they have the size you need in stock.
I just found out that they are discontinuing stock of Interstate batteries, and have all existing inventory marked down to 50% of last listed price.
I didn't find a group 91 or 24 that I was seeing in different listings for the 928, but did find a 94-H7 that will fit my VW TDI, for $94+core+tax.
I have no affiliation or interest in this offer, other than having purchased one myself.
Mods: I did not see anything in the thread posting rules guiding whether mentioning deals found is against the rules, but please feel free to delete it if I am violating one that I missed.

Continuing the theme --
The dual-exhaust cars need the H6 (Group 48) version that's shorter than the Group 49 used in some of the the earlier cars.
For the curious, Fred Meyer is a NW regional retailer, somewhere north of WalMart in merchandise and presentation.
Our local Costco auto center is carrying Interstate-brand batteries now, and keeps the H6/Group 48 batteries in stock. Last time I looked, the costs there are similar to the Fred Meyer clearance prices the OP shares. If you aren't handy to a Fred Meyer store, the Costco option is usually pretty good. Plus the warranty options at Fred Meyer may diminish if they no longer carry that brand.
** Full Disclosure: We own Costco stock directly, and indirectly through a trust account. We don't expect to see any significant share appreciation from the surge in 928 battery sales caused by this message. Darn!
