Default Oil return

Ok..with the high level of precision built in these motors, this alarmed me...
I just happened to be looking over my motor for a few moments.

Whats wrong with this picture???
Kind of a DUH really...

Compared to this one....

Oil galley return for #5 cylinder..........and #6 (bottom pic)

7 and 8 looked fine...i havent looked at 1-4 yet.

Needless to say a little dremel/ die grinder action will be in order....
Would that be the appropriate thing to do??

Actually shocked me when i saw it!!

those that have a motor apart..or can view these ports, it may be worth a look.

Maybe Porsche wants to control the oil drain back rate?

Tony,

Does the block and cradle on your motor have matching numbers?

interesting .... do you have oil ingestion Tony? What vin? Mine is 1401, and it is fine except for ingestion under high-g LH'ers. I wonder if it could be related, as in a series of head castings ..... ChrisF had mentioned that as a thought but I have resisted pulling heads ...
