Just did this following Captain Slow’s procedure (link below) which worked great, but I wanted to add a few additional steps for the ‘78. Captain Slow’s procedure is written for a later car, which has mounts that are both the same size. The ‘78 has a larger mount on the driver’s side than the passenger side. The passenger can be changed out fine following his steps, but I had to remove the wheels and drop the back half of the exhaust to get the driver’s side mount out/in. Once the exhaust is down and wheel is off, the mount can be squeezed out toward the rear up and over the axle. It’s tight like a tiger, but it will come out and go in without damage.
