I was planning on heading out tomorrow (Wednesday) morning to meet up with a friend in the area before, so doing some quick pre-trip checks on the white car.....
While checking the oil, I notice there is a bit of metal in the oil. Its not immense, but enough to be disconcerted before taking a trip. The car is running great, but it could be the initial signs of some thrust bearing wear. Since I was planning on leaving tomorrow AM, there is really not enough time for me to pull the pan to check out the situation. I am going to try and revive the GTS4... I haven't driven her since spring as I was wanting to start work on the body, but haven't gotten around to it. It will either be a mad dash to swap the wheels from the white car over and give her a local shake-down, or we will be coming in a civilian vehicle.
I am bummed, but rather not chance any permanent damage if it is pre-TBF and while I trust my cars, its a 10-hour drive on a car that has not seen any real action in six months.
Fingers crossed that the ugly blue GTS4 wants to come out of hibernation and doesn't have any issues from sitting.
See you guys on Friday one way or another though.

Having just taken that route this week on I-95, be VERY careful around Delaware after the Del. Mem. Bridge., as lanes narrow and are channeled by Jersey barriers. No room for error. It's under construction after the toll booths in Del. heading towards MD. Very bad roads. Also, speed limit drops to 20 MPH ahead of the booths, and laser and Ka was being used to monitor.
In Maryland, there was also a construction zone where lanes shifted, and where they did, the pavement was MISSING in the center lane for about 300 yards. It was a "groove" about 24" wide, for that distance. It's due to the pavement work in the area. Sorry, was late, don't recall the mile marker, but it's a marked construction zone in MD and was north of Baltimore. I hope this is useful info. .
