Default Ottawa Event

My car was part of the Ottawa event today.
33 cars inside the pavilion, beautiful place for an event like this.
About 50 cars outside.

Many very exceptional cars.

Bertrand,

Your S4 looks right at home there and deservedly so because it is also a "very exceptional car"!

Cheers,

Dave

OB1, Really enjoyed seeing your "old girl" and getting to know you a little yesterday. I thought yours was the star of the show. Very fun morning. Stay off the motorcycles!

Thank you Dave.

I was happy that the dealer asked me to display my car but was even happier that they really wanted a 928.
It's slowly taking it's place in the Porsche classic line up.
And the visitors interest toward our model was definitely there...

Although our local dealer event was nice enough.... free food and a driving simulator, they only had one classic featured in the showroom, a '59 356.... along with a 991 GT3RS and 997 GT2RS, both of which show up there occasionally for various events. The rest of us folks who had something "historic" to bring were parked wherever, amongst the rest of the crowd. They even saved a spot in front for a McLaren that arrived later in the day. Not sure how that figures into Porsche's history.

What I would have like to see was a historic display like some of the pics here. I even offered to help find the cars, but was turned down.

Our local region worked hard to populate the classics display. Apparently the invites were managed face-to-face at monthly meetings, which I've not been to since last fall with some project commitments. Flight delays from tthe east coast on Saturday had me back at dinnertime vs. schedule before-lunch arrive so I didn't get to see any of the cars on display. Timing was poor for me to display, as the car was still up on storage stands and cocooned even had I been here to display it.

I should be ready for the 75th anniversary event.

My first car was a 356SC cab. I can pretty safely say that there is nothing in the 928 gene collection traceable to the 356 whose introduction was celebrated on Saturday. In Porsche history there's evolution and revolution. The 928 certainly fits better in the "revolution" category.
