Default Correct way to close up the CE panel in a GTS

Tried search but couldn't find anything.

The plastic pins circled in blue, do those pins go inside of the side carpeted cover that is to the right, or do they stay outside of the side carpeted cover? Anyone know the purpose of those pins?

And lastly, that plastic strap enters through the bottom of the metal hook, right? It seems kinda obvious but just want to make sure. Don't make fun of me, lol.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think the side cover has corresponding "holes" the pins would fit in.

Straps go under the metal loop. Point up. :-)

The carpeted computer cover absolutely has two corresponding holes the pins slide in to.

on my GT, my cover does not have any holes in it, and the cover, in its installed position, "covers" those
2 pins, so that they are not seen when the cover is in place.

Appreciate all the replies!

Thanks for the pic Kevin, that was helpful! Pins definitely slide into the cover. Here's a pic of the backside of the cover where the pins slide into. Didn't even notice that till I saw your pic.

On a later car there are alignment holes - pretty obvious where the pegs go then!

The strap goes through the metal hook/clip after it clips the top of the cover in - I thought it only really reached one way...

While it fits correctly only one way, I am constantly amazed at how creative some people can be at making something 'fit wrong'.

This applies to everything, not just 928s

Always wondered about that strap on the carpet ... anyone have a pic of what it looks like in place?

2nd pic in post #1 is pretty close.

Just pull the tip of the strap down and feed it up and under the metal 'hoop'.

It should end up pointing straight up, going under the metal.

The strap on my '89 goes up under the metal hoop, then loops back and passes under again, ends up pointing down and exposed on the outer face.. As shipped.
