Mismatched headlight mount fork differences?
This past weekend I got around to replacing the broken headlight pivot I noticed when I changed my headlights to H4's. This is the broken unit from the drivers side.
Here is the replacement unit that matches the one installed on the passenger side.
However, the replacement part was too long for the headlight mounting fork and it was at this point that I noticed that the fork on the passenger side was different. the mount point was deeper. I am assuming the shallower driver side was a part to accommodate the adjuster motor for euro model (my car is a 88 USA model).
Can anyone confirm this mismatch. I am assuming the wrong part was ordered at some point.

Later cars had electric adjusters (around '90) and these have a longer body than the earlier 'hydraulic' (silicone liquid) adjusters. In each case there were dummy non-adjuster versions for the USA cars with static fixed aim-points (individually manually adjustable at the headlight buckets only).
