Easy-off to restore anodized wheels
85 Auto
The wheels on our newly purchased 85 need cleaning and restoration. Luckily, none of them are pitted, but they need to be deep cleaned and polished. I noted on YouTube that a number of people have used easy off oven cleaner to clean anodized aluminum surfaces (though not specifically shark wheels).
Has anyone tried this?

Ya, it has sodium hydroxide in it...and anodizing is a surface is just oxidizing it.
Al is always oxidized...passivation..in open air, even clean pure Al.
Sodium hydroxide will dissolve the oxide layer.
Oven cleaner.

Place in Green Bay will re-anodize them for 75-100 a wheel.
You may not need to remove the old before having it done. The last thing you want is bare aluminum wheels, so have a plan to do something like paint or anodizing before starting the removal process.
