Setting Air Fuel Ration (AFR) prior to CA emissions (86 early)
Looking for advice/counsel prior to submitting the car for CA emissions testing
My 86 (early) currently has X pipe with an Innovate AF meter installed. I will remove X pipe and reinstall converter prior to a test of course. The car passed emissions last year with room to spare
The car has a new O2 sensor (factory, installed today), rebuilt maf, no vacuum leaks as verified by smoke test, new plugs. The first step I took was to calibrate in free air the Innovate AFR wide range. Second step was with X pipe on, new O2 disconnected, I adjusted the AFR using the maf adjustment screw to 14.5 / 14.6 AFR. When I reconnected the O2, the AFR went to 13.6 / 13.7. Is this normal / to be expected? I have not checked what the ohms are from the maf - should I simply set it to 393 ohms? Since I believe the car AFR can be adjusted with the O2 sensor installed with porken s300 v4 chips, maybe I should reinstall my spare computers with those chips in the car? (yes I have 2 sets of EZF and LH)
Thanks in advance

What is the AFR if you bridge B->C on the test plug?
Pretty much no matter the MAF CO setting, the LH will determine the AFR at idle and part throttle using the NBO2. It sounds like the NBO2 sensor sees lean on it's down pipe, making it rich on the WBO2 side.
Have you looked at the spark plugs?

New plugs. Old ones when removed looked perfect.
Do I disconnect O2 if bridge B->C?
What is or are NB02 (narrowband factory o2?)
Do your chips (v4 that I have on my spare computers) allow adjustment of AFR with MAF. If so, maybe I install that computer and adjust the AFU suing the narrow band o2. Can I do this w/o installing the s4 FPR temporarily? I also have rebuilt generation 3 4 hole ford injectors that I was going to install - but after getting through emissions and in conjunction with reinstall your chips and FPR
