I just replaced my motor mounts on my 88 S-4 and everything has worked out well except I can't remember where the attached rubber boot goes. I think it has something to do with the rack? I looked through the manual but can't find anything there. Any ideas?

Are you sure its from your 928?

 

looks about the size of a tierod end boot.

Now that you raised the question I think you are right! It must of been taken off the bench with the rest of the parts. Thanks for pointing that out.

 

One of the things I always like about working on my Bimmers is that most (if not all) of the parts are marked with the BMW part #. Hence, if I need to identify something...I dig out my trusty ETK and voila!
