S4 Automatic Transmission Shift Cable Adjustment
Does anyone remember how to put the cable back on the transmission? I remember having to move the selector on the transmission a few times and putting the shifter in the N position. I cant find the post I used last time.

I think I figured it out.
So inside the car I have to put the shift lever in the N position.
Then underneath the car I disconnect the cable from the transmission selector (already disconnected).
I push the gear selector on the transmission to the very back. This should make it be in park.
Then I push it towards the front of the car until it clicks twice, this should be N.
Then I connect the ball and make sure their is no tension? That is kind of weird that the manual says that.
You would think it would say no slack.

I just put the cable back on. The car is on jacks.
When the car is in P the wheels do not spin.
When it is in R the wheels spin like it is in reverse.
When it is in D, 2, 3, and N the wheels spin like it wants to go forward.
Is it normal for the wheels to spin in N when it is on jacks?

put the brakes on,
the wheels should not spin in neutral with the brakes applied lightly,
if by adding gas then wheels break free then the selector is still not properly adjusted.
