Default Need radio code for Porsche CD-1

I do not have a code card for my CD-1 radio. Is there any way to retrieve one in this case? The only sticker on the radio with any numbers on it is this one.

This place on ebay can probably unlock it for you for $65: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-CD-....c100005.m1851 No affiliation.

Yep, that's the local (to me) expert on vintage German radios. They have pulled the code for two CR-1s and a CD-2 for me. Quick and reliable.

The CD-1 does not need a code. Codes were first introduced on the CD-2.

Also, if you have a working CD-1 that actually plays CDs, consider yourself extremely lucky. Rare as hens' teeth and Alpine (the manufacturer) cannot repair any of them anymore. Parts have been NLA for a very long time.

Are you 100% sure that the CD-1 does not have a code? That would be great news of course.

If you are handy (or comfortable) using a soldering iron you can get an unlock code in just a few minutes... I have 3 nice CD-2s here I need to take the time to do myself. I am guessing process should be the same for CD-1.

Cheers,

Dave

According to Ried, I don’t need a code for the CD-1.
